The White River is well known for world class fly fishing due to the introduction of cold water trout that thrive in the tailwaters of the Bull Shoals Dam. The Buffalo River is famous as the country’s first National River. Protected by our park service, the Buffalo remains a free flowing river to this day, preserved in its original scenic beauty.

You don’t have to go to Florida or the Grand Banks for water sports and great fishing! Centered in the heart of the Ozarks; Norfork Lake, Bull Shoals Lake, the Buffalo, White and Norfork River’s area offers world class scenery, fishing, golf, scuba diving, river floats, and several major cave systems to explore. Two girls and their dad taking a fun vacation down in Florida and enjoying the fun beaches and water parks, swimming pools, and other attractions for kids and families. We found a great place to stay in Ormond Beach Florida very close to Daytona Beach. We were playing in the ocean waters along the coastal shoreline between Palm Coast FL and South Daytona Beach. We explored miles of the beach while riding on the 4 wheeler.

Our stop before heading to Orlando Florida was the Kennedy Space Center. Looks as if they will be launching a space shuttle on Friday afternoon. We would have been able to see it from Orlando Florida but we are heading back to our home up north on Friday morning. There has been tornadoes in Georgia and in other surrounding states which have caused so much damage. After hearing about the bad weather we decided to extend our trip a couple of extra days so we would have left Wednesday instead of Friday.

Our overall vacation was awesome and very hot. Not used to the high temperatures and humidity since the weather in the NJ and New York area is never his hot this time of year.

We did discover a few good places to eat along the way and also while in the areas we were staying. We enjoyed Indian foods and Italian foods and family style buffets. The best food we had was the awesome 24 inch NY style pizza which we enjoyed while dining out at Lenny’s in Ormond Beach. The pizza and Cannoli were the best!

We are now very close to Disney World and going to try some restaurants here in Orlando. After eating at Lenny’s we doubt we will find anyone who will compare. We will make exclusive trips to Ormon Beach just to eat at Lenny’s NY Pizzeria.

SUNNY today, snorkeling time. The water colors are unbelievable, I can’t describe all the shades of blue, but it’s pretty amazing. The water looks like in the video about arriving in Jamaica, except now we are in it surrounded by fish.

If you like camping, it’s fun to do it in style. So if you want to combine the fun of roughing it against the backdrop of California’s Riviera, you know what you do?

At Moe B’s Watersports, you can check out a pedal boat, take a guided kayak tour, or hop on a Duffy Boat for a cruise around Newport Bay and Balboa Island. It’s a great way to spot some prime Newport Beach real estate, some awesome Newport Beach homes and Newport Beach mansions.

The latest rage is paddle surfing, a Hawaiian tradition that is catching on here in California.

It’s perfect for walking your dog (it’s one of Orange County’s best pet friendly resorts), or trying out your beach cruiser on one of the best bike trails (and safest bike trails) in the area.

When the sun sets on the Pacific, head over to the Village Center grocery store for some wine and S’mores makings, then stop by the beach for a campfire and family movie on the outdoor big screen.

Though you can visit just for the day, I recommend at least a weekend to fully enjoy everything the resort has to offer.

We loved our little 1-bedroom beachfront cottage, a Newport Beach vacation rental which comes with a sleeper sofa and a great loft for the kids. Amenities include free WiFi, TV/DVD, kitchen, and private master bedroom.

If you don’t feel like cooking, consider a gourmet take-out picnic from the Daily Grill in Fashion Island, a top shopping and dining destination just blocks away in the city of Newport Beach.

Try to time your stay around the popular July 4 fireworks display at the Dunes, or the Newport Beach film Festival in April-May and the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Jazz Festival in May.
